For foreigners from around the world with temporary visa

Recently number of foreign patients has increased; however, there are some problems at the same time, such as language, a difference of understanding each culture, and a lack of understanding Japanese medical systems. Those problems are caused disturbing our examination and consulting process in time.
Hope all foreigners, who would like to come to our clinic, understand the clinic features indicated below completely prior you come.

1. Well- communication in Japanese is necessary
Understanding conversation among a patient, a doctor, a hygienist, and staffs is very important. If you are NOT good at Japanese, you'd better be with an interpreter. The chief doctor is able to communicate with foreigners in English , but other staffs are not good at conversation in English. The chief doctor has to take care of many patients in one day, so spending time with one patient is not so long. Therefore, you need good communication skill with staffs in Japanese.

2. By appointment only for examination except emergency cases (See "Patients for Emergency" paragraph)
All patients need appointment, and the doctor has to follow its appointment schedule to see patients. If there is no available schedule left for appointment when you book, pleases try another available time or date. Handling your schedule is your responsibility, not us. Everybody takes care of their schedule. We never accept selfish reason for taking an appointment.

3. Understanding the differences of medical systems between your country and Japan is necessary.
No matter our income, everybody can take general medical examination in this country. Most of general examinations are covered by Japanese social and general medical insurance, which costs 30% of total expense; however, others, whitening and orthodontics for example, are not covered. You have to pay 100% cost by yourself.

4. We are welcome people who would like long-term treatment
Due to this clinic achievement, we would like all patients to continue and come to the clinic for oral care constantly. It depends on your idea and situation, but some of foreign patients insist on just fixing problem; however, it's not a good solution for the patient with short-term treatment. Long-tern of maintenance and treatment are the best solution of our oral care.

< Purpose and achievement of this clinic >
Supporting and maintaining oral health care in lifetime is this clinic purpose. Annual and/or half-year oral check are common sense in Europe and the U.S. 80% in Sweden, 50% in England, 20〜60% in America of people go to clinic to check once or twice a year, but only 2% of us can go in Japan. This clinic would like to make people change their consciousness. In order to realize our purpose and achievement, we try to have separated examination rooms, and have international level of diagnosis, technique and facilities.

"Caries and Periodontal diseases occur rarely in nature." by Dr. Roy C. Page. Caries and Periodontal diseases are transmitted by bacteria, and most people can prevent both diseases with homecare and professional care at dental clinic. Most of them realize something wrong in your mouth after you have cavity or bleeding from gum, and visit a clinic, but sometimes it's too late when you go to the clinic. Due to treatment many times in the past, inlay and/or crown are filled off, and then need re-treatment, which causes getting lose your teeth. Stop this old process and try to keep your teeth healthy as long as you can with us.

< How to use our dental clinic correctly >
Taking regular oral check and maintenance is necessary because of reasons as below;
1. Clean mouth keeps healthy teeth longer
2. Having regular set of teeth is prevented oral diseases
3. Need professional oral care to prevent oral diseases, home care only is not enough to do it.
Professional caring by dental hygienist(s) is the best. When some problems are occurred, the hygienist can take care of them with a dentist.
It's important for you and all prospective patients to know you need to take regular professional care and maintenance. When we solve patient's problems, we check all of mouth condition in detail and take x-ray with small parts. We often take oral pictures for explanation. After these screening, we make a plan of its treatment process for them. Lisk check of saliva is needed in Sweden for example.

< Patients for Emergency >
Thinking about all last 4 years, it seems to us that there are still dental treatment problems.
20% of new patients in our clinic are emergency, and their problems are mainly ristricted to pain problem or trable in filling material. 70% of its emergency patients give us telephone prior they come, but rest of them is without any appointment or having phone, and visits us directly. Some request to see a doctor right away, especially patients with painful problem insist on not to be able to wait order. We of course take care of emergency patient as soon as we can; however, we would like to offer better treatment with appointment of a dentist and hygienist in charge, also our dental clinic has different features and purpose from other clinics as indicated in "Purpose and achievement of this clinic"; therefore, it's almost impossible for us to react and accept needs of emergency patients. This clinic has not been opened for those needs to take care of. Most emergency patients would like to solve only their present problem they have, and they do not want to have regular check. We would like them to understand that ignoring regular check can't maintain your healthy teeth or mouth.
